“I needed my Dyson serviced and called Nova Vacuums before ordering a bunch of replacement parts online. They had all the parts in stock and quickly took care of the issue (worn / stretched bands). The staff was prompt, professional, and even though Dyson vacuums were by far the majority in the grave yard, they didn’t pressure me into switching brands. I’ll be supporting the local business at the Warrenton location. Give these guys a look before buying your next vacuum from any of the big box stores.”

Imagine: You’re doing your weekly cleaning with your Dyson and everything is going good so far. You’re getting the corners of the living room and the hair, dust, and lint ball count decreases. However, you notice that as quick as the vacuum takes it away, debris is being spat back out. You do the first thing that comes to mind and check the vacuum container – still only a quarter full. Whatever could be wrong with it would take some dismantling and that may create more problems (possibly missing parts when assembling it back, putting it back together incorrectly, etc.).
Nova Vacuums is here to diagnose and service your vacuum! If it’s an older vacuum, don’t worry! Our technicians are trained to work with vintage vacuums, also and will work with you in order to extend its life. Contact Nova Vacuums for your vacuum repair needed in Bristow, VA.

When your vacuum cleaner is on our workbench to be cleaned and serviced, a vacuum cleaner repairman with many years experience is on the job. He must disassemble a machine with many small parts, and take caution to not break anything. All screws and fasteners must be kept organized and labeled, because it has to go back together exactly the same way it came apart. As he removes each small part, he carefully cleans it with the proper cleanser. The key to a proper functioning vacuum is cleanliness. Some of the small parts are often plastic and easily broken, so great caution is taken. When he is done with this step of the job, he has a fully disassembled vacuum cleaner, in many pieces!
As you can see in the pictures, there are many crevices and holes where dirt builds up.

Most people who live in homes with carpeting are familiar with vacuums, but this vital tool has not always been around. The history of the vacuum is surprisingly short and today’s vacuums are not terribly different from selections from 100 years ago.
The roots of the modern vacuum cleaner start with inventor Daniel Hess. In 1860, he submitted a patent for the “carpet sweeper.” This invention featured bellows and roller brushes that sucked in dust and air when manipulated manually. In 1869, Ives McGaffey took things a step further by inventing an upright cleaner that used a fan to move air. This unit was operated by a hand crank and incredibly expensive, so the product field.
There were many different ideas throughout the 1800s and into the 1900s, but none of these systems worked well until inventor James Murray Spangler invented what was essentially the modern vacuum cleaner in 1907. Consisting of broom, a pillowcase, and an electric motor, this idea was eventually sold to William and Susan Hoover, who invested in the concept and eventually started the company we all know today.
